SLAMMIN’ ON SALMON

We have the keys to the seafood supermarket and are open seven days a week, so take your pick!

If you’re here to fish for Pacific salmon (Chinook, Spring/Kings, Sockeye, Coho/Silvers, Chum, and Pink), all five species of salmon pass by or through the Tofino area throughout the course of the year. We can troll, mooch, jig, cast, or fly fish for surface feeding Coho in late summer to early fall.

FISH FOR DAYS

Try your luck with the massive and always delicious halibut that lurk in the bottom depths around the sandy inshore shoals and offshore banks. Lingcod fishing opportunities are amazing in or around reefs and rock pilings, or maybe we find an epic yellow-eyed snapper hole that’s producing beauty keepers for your frying pan.

Clayoquot Sound is one of the hottest spots on the West Coast of Vancouver Island and in British Columbia for Dungeness crab and Rock crab; you might even get lucky and catch a rogue Puget Sound crab!

Keep your eye on the rod and stay focused, it makes all the difference and puts fish where we want them- in the box! With a bit of luck and a kick-ass attitude, we consistently turn back to the barn at the end of a day loaded up with delicious critters. Our inclusive packages only require you to obtain a fishing license and get out of bed in the morning!

A friendly reminder for guests selecting this package a hardcopy or online version of your fishing license is required to retain fin-fish. Ask about the ‘cook your catch’ option for this tour!

ADD ON ADVENTURES

Don’t limit yourself to being on the boat the entire time and instead double up your wildlife tour with an add-on of Hot Springs Cove Adventure in the beautiful Maquinna Provincial Marine Park, located 20 nautical miles north of Tofino. You can also visit Lone Cone for a hike up the mountainside to see breathtaking panoramic views of the entire Clayoquot region. Or, for a more cultural experience, we can organize a guided walk along the Wild Side Trail in Ahousat.

Exploring Clayoquot sound and its mysteries is always a fruitful endeavor. Whatever we set out to see on the day of your charter, there are bound to be a few surprises because Vancouver Island is a wildlife and marine life buffet that will keep your head turning at each passing moment.

”UNREAL FISHING DAY IN TOFINO”

Very highly recommend! We had the most amazing day on the boat with Brin and caught more than we ever thought we would. Brin communicated with us prior to our trip to make sure we were prepared for the day which was extremely helpful. Our guide knew where all the hot spots were, was very patient with the newbie and was very personable. He had given us the option to go to the hot springs but because the fish were biting we stayed on the water. While we were on our way to and from our fishing spots he made sure to stop for any wildlife. All around amazing experience and can’t wait to go back and catch more fish!

”SALMON CATCHING”

Myself and my two son’s have had yet another great fishing trip with capt’n Brin! This was our third time out with Coastal Charters and our third time catching Salmon of a life time! I am a Charter Captain at home in Hawaii and know what it takes to run a successful business and provide a memerable experience for guests. And that is exactly what Coastal Charters does best!! Thanks again Capt’n Brin for memories that will last us till next year when we return for another epic fishing trip!

”TOFINO CHINOOK FISHING”

Great day with Coastal Charters and our guide Brin fishing for Chinook just outside of Tofino. Although the day started off a little slow for us Brin changed up the tactics and we were able to get the hook on. Not only does Brin operate a safe boat but he brings a wealth of knowledge and confidence and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a guide on the water in the area. At the end of the day he dressed our fish and we were able to get the chef at the Tofino Resort & Marina to cook one of the salmon in their wood fired oven.
